Mission Statement

To dedicate and commit to the wellbeing of individuals, their families and the community through quality treatment, prevention, and intervention

Our Team

All providers are culturally competent and provide individualized diverse programming. Our master’s level mental health clinicians, social workers, and substance abuse counselors have at minimum several years of professional experience to assist in your journey. Case managers have at minimum a bachelor’s degree along with years of experience in the field to provide crisis stabilization and resource development services. As a collaborative team psychologist, nurse practitioners, child/adult psychiatrists, and primary medical doctors work together to ensure appropriate continuity of care is provided to all those we serve.

Dr. Melanie Bison, Ph.D
Chief Executive Officer

Melanie Bison Melanie holds a PhD and a MS in Addiction Psychology. She has been in the helping profession for over 25 years and has certifications/licenses in many different specialties including domestic violence, trauma, pathological gambling, sexual offender treatment, dual diagnoses (mental health, addiction), and crisis intervention. Throughout the years she has done numerous community events including radio/tv such as being featured on the Bethenny talk show. She has worked in both non and for profit sectors providing consulting, therapeutic interventions, diversity/sensitivity trainings, team building, strategic planning, company development/structuring/best practices systematization, corporate restructuring/transitioning/closure planning, and cultural/gender fluidity responsive programming integration. Dr. Bison has been recognized throughout the years for her continued humanitarian efforts and was awarded the 2018 Top Behavioral Healthcare Administrator with the International Association of HealthCare Professionals and was just inducted into the 2022 Nationwide Registries Top Doctors of America Women of Distinction Honors Edition.

Stacey Sheats, MBA
Chief Operations Officer & Chief People Officer

Stacey Sheats has been working in the healthcare industry over 20 years within the Business Administration/operations and Human Resources capacity.    Stacey is a graduate of Strayer University where she achieved her MBA and has worked within short/long term care hospitals including Outpatient care.  She's motivated with building strong business relationships while ensuring the organization is operating within State and Federal compliance and regulations. Stacey focuses primarily with the day to day business functions of Bison Health, Recruitment of top quality staff, and Marketing our services.

Shahida Newkirk, RN
Chief Clinical Officer & 
Chief Compliance Officer

Shahida Newkirk a compassionate Nurse Executive dedicated to maintaining standards of nursing and clinical practices and policies. Excellent leader, and mentor. Demonstrates strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance along with proven results in managerial role. She possess strong and proven communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams to increase engagement and improve productivity. She has focused on healthcare quality in Behavioral and long term care while improving patient/customer satisfaction and quality. Shahida has extensive experience with the State and federal survey process including the Joint Commission and CMS.
